Sky Captures Ltd is a CAA‑approved GVC Commercial Drone Operator, qualified to carry out safe, compliant aerial work across the UK. Our General Visual Line of Sight Certificate (GVC) allows us to operate within the Specific Category under an Operational Authorisation, enabling more complex and higher‑risk commercial drone flights. We also hold the A2 Certificate of Competency (A2 CofC), which permits safe operations in more populated areas and closer to people than basic hobby permissions allow.
Our training covers all core aviation disciplines, including air law, airspace rules, airmanship, human performance, navigation, meteorology, aircraft systems, and standard operating procedures. This ensures every flight is professionally planned, risk‑assessed, and executed to aviation‑industry standards.

About Me
I grew up in a single‑parent household where responsibility arrived early. I was the one mowing the lawn, fixing things around the house, putting up picture rails, washing cars — whatever needed doing, I learned to do it. Those early DIY tasks didn’t just teach me independence; they sparked a lifelong passion for building, creating, and solving problems with my own hands.
That passion led me into engineering. I studied at AUEA before moving on to the University of Birmingham to pursue Civil Engineering. But during my degree, I hit a difficult period. I failed a module, struggled with my mental health, and felt like my future was slipping away.
A summer placement with nmcn changed everything. They took a chance on me, brought me in as an industrial placement student, and the structure and purpose of real‑world engineering work helped pull me out of a dark place. I rediscovered my confidence, my capability, and my direction.
I returned to university, completed my degree, and graduated with a 2:1. I rejoined nmcn on their graduate programme — only to be made redundant a year later when the company collapsed. It was another unexpected setback, and I found myself starting again.
I joined CRL and spent two years delivering engineering and compliance work, but with no progression and increasing pressure from senior management, I was pushed to resign. It was a difficult moment, but it forced me to rethink everything.
Instead of letting another setback define me, I chose to build something of my own.
I took my engineering background, my hands‑on experience, my passion for technology, and the resilience shaped by every challenge — and I founded Sky Captures Ltd.
Today, I provide drone surveying, aerial imaging, laser scanning, Matterport 3D tours, and property media across the Midlands. My business is built on the values that shaped me: honesty, hard work, technical precision, and a genuine commitment to helping clients get the high‑quality data and visuals they need.
Every step of my journey — the early responsibilities, the setbacks, the resilience, the engineering foundation — led me here. And I’m proud to have turned those experiences into a business that delivers real value, real quality, and real results.
